GMC was back at the London Freeze Ski and Snowboard Festival for the second year, this time in charge of the snow preperation and removal throughout the event. It is a big job with over 200 tonnes of snow being made on the first night to manage and a crew of 16 to help with the work load.
The first two days went well with the weather staying on our side and the snow not melting too much however for the third day we had Englands first avalanche in the centre of London as the in run slipped down. This left us with a dilema and along with the first weather warning of the year it was set to be a tough morning. the start was delayed and the team pulled together to let the contest start which when you look at the photos below was a miracle and a great combined effort by all involved.
The riding throughout the weekend by the UK skiers and snowboarders was fantastic and the worlds best came to take part on saturday and sunday making it a fantastic spectacle with double flips and big spins happening throughout to keep everyone entertained. The music line up was great as well with Calvin Harris, The Friendly Fires and the Eagles of Death Metal to name a few.
